Baby Shower Gift Pictures

Hi Dana,
How are you doing way down there where it is hot and humid and those hurricanes knock on your door. I bet the hot and humid weather is getting to you being pregnant. Don't worry about the 9 pound baby- my father-in-law was 14 pound and he had a brother that was 16 pounds and that was way back and she had them natural can you believe that? So I figure 9 pounds should be a breeze with all they have today to help you along. And think about it, a healthy 9 pound is a lot better than having a premmie. Just remember, we'll all be thinking about you and will all say a prayer for an easy birth--- so let us all know as soon as the happy day comes. Have a great time being a mother, enhoy every second, they grow up so fast. Be sure daddy enjoys all he can too, Father and Son can be so special. Okay, enough of me now, time to go play with Jan's beautiful doggies.
Love you,
Cousin Betty Jane

Hi Dana,
This is your Great Aunt Virginia, we are playing games and having fun. I hope everything goes okay with you and the baby.
Love you!
Hi Dana,
We are having a fun time at your shower. We wish that you could be here.
Love, Grandma B
Everyone decided that their ice cubes weren't melting quick enough, so they put their dixie cups in their coffee mug. Betty Jane but hers in her mouth and sucked on it, she won. Your two door prize gifts were 2 simply scrappin' kits from Stampin' Up, both are Baby Boy. Your second gift was two desitin creams, a baby shampoo and lotion and a tub of baby wipes. We are eatting lunch now and we'll open the gifts after.
Hello everybody!! Thank you for having this shower for me. I'm sorry the weather is so awful. I hope everybody stays safe and is having fun. John and I are so excited to have our little boy and cannot wait to meet him and introduce him to all of our friends and family. We are crossing our fingers that we will not see him early, but the doctor says if he is close to nine pounds when we have our next ultrasound we may have to induce early so cross your fingers!!

Okay, we started, there are only four people here, we are attributing that to the weather. We are having fun however, we started the games even though everyone here will leave with a door prize. Aunt Kay isn't going to be able to make it because her sugar is up to 500, so say a prayer. At the moment, we are playing Guess the Baby Food, everyone except Grandma is trying it. And Betty Jane actually likes them.

Here is my first stretchmark. Hopefully it is the last!!

Dana today, 34 weeks--6 more to go!

Just before the shower

Hi Dana,

Well, I think we are ready. Here are some pictures of the room, tables, games, and cake. The ice cube trays have little plastic babies in them. Becky and I were looking for words last night for the word scramble game and found this game. It is called My Water Broke. You freeze the babies in ice cube trays and when all your guests arrive they each get one in a cup and they have to watch them until they melt and the baby is exposed and then the first one to yell My Water Broke wins. We were out until 10:30 finding babies.

Baby blanket from John's mom Jeri

Readying the Nursery

Readying the Nursery

Dana was our supervisor. John and I (Grandma Rodgers To Be) painted. John did the top and I did the bottom. John is a wonderful painter! I was a little worried at first because the roller hit the ceiling on his first stroke, but that was just a minor slip. He paints faster than anyone I know--especially me! He had the top done in no time. (Of course, I had to paint the bottom in 2 coats because of the dark color.) Then John and Grandpa Rodgers To Be put up the chair rail. John did all the finishing and the room looks wonderful.

The invitation

Although cards are nice,

With their sentiment and prayer

They're read once or twice

And tucked away with care.

A book is a treasure

Words and pictures unite

Read over and over

To teach and delight.

So instead of a card

To baby, dad and mother

Please present them a book

With your thoughts in the cover.

Your book will be cherished

God will watch from above

When they read, they'll remember

Your kindness and love.

Diaper Cake

Aunt Jan and Becky have created this wonderful diaper cake for Ian's arrival.
